This lovely quilt is quite unusual and is reminiscent of floral needlepoint embroideries,
recreated here using a subtle mixture of solid fabrics on a dark peacock background. The
design is made up of just squares in a single size, so there’s lots of easy cutting and sewing,
although for the best result you do have to match up seams neatly when sewing the patches
together. For the background, individual squares are used throughout rather than strips, to
continue the appearance of an embroidery.
The difficulty level of this quilt is beginner.
This quilt kit contains 46 different solid fabrics. Some of the colors are very similar and it can be overwhelming to sort out all the fabric pieces. The Little Red Hen has added a fabric color chart that includes the fabric number assigned in the pattern, the yardage cut requirement for each fabric, the fabric bolt number, color name, & picture all of this information listed together. The pattern itself is wonderful and easy to follow, but we felt this would help our customers sort their kit out and help them get organized more quickly, so they can moved on to the fun part of sewing it all together!
